Great Cause Great Day! *Quarantine Edition- 2020

Hello CG-B Elementary families-
Each Spring, our Elementary School is proud to complete a Great Cause, Great Day Campaign. We’ve helped many organizations like Children’s Hospital, Patients Helping
Patients, Mason’s Art Totes, Sheboygan County Foster Care program, the Salvation
Army, Camp Kesem-UW Madison, and many others.
This year, even though we are apart, we can still unite as a school community through
our Great Cause- Hero Mail Call. We are partnering with Kapco Industries in Grafton as
they are supporting Essential Workers, Healthcare Workers and Seniors through their
campaign. Kapco is collecting letters and pictures to send to these vital workers and
seniors who may be facing loneliness and isolation during this time.
How can you help? It’s easy- attached are some coloring sheets that you can print out.
Your child (and family) can color or decorate the pictures and drop them off. You can
color one or 10- it’s totally up to you! If you don’t want to print a picture- please feel free
to draw one of your own. Please keep picture sizes to 8 1⁄2 x 11 or smaller. Don’t forget to
add your child’s first name and grade to the picture :)
You can drop off or mail pictures to:

Mrs. Brochtrup’s house
330 Birch Tree Ave.
Cedar Grove, WI 53013  (blue box on front porch)

Mrs. Augustiniak’s house
435 Aspen St.
Belgium, WI 53004 (plastic bin on front porch)

Additionally- a drop off point will be available near the Elementary School Main doors on
MONDAYS (May 4, 11, and 18) from 11-1. Please have letters/pictures ready to be handed
off through the car window- please do not exit your vehicle! Final day for porch drop off
is Tuesday, May 26.

Please do NOT give pictures to lunch staff- they will not be able to collect them.
In our support of essential workers, we would also love to see our CGB families decorate
windows with hearts and words of thanks. If you are able to do this, watch for posts on
the CGB District facebook page. Feel free to comment with pictures of your decorations!
One activity that can unite us is having Virtual Spirit Days. Every Tuesday in May is being
designated as Together Tuesday. Watch for social media posts to add your photos in the

- Tuesday, May 5- Super Heroes! Who is your favorite superhero? Spiderman,
Wonderwoman, your mom, a nurse, the grocery store clerk? Dress like a hero.
Decorate your window to honor our health care workers or write a letter or color a
picture for Kapco's Hero Mail Call.
- Tuesday, May 12- We R One! Show your Rocket Pride. Color in this Rocket Picture
and post it proudly for our community to see. Don't have a printer? Write the
words Rocket Pride on a sheet of paper and post it somewhere for your family or
neighbors to see.
- Tuesday, May 19- Sum, Sum, Summer! Wear your warm weather, summer clothes
and do something that reminds you of your best summer day. Pretend you're at
the beach, have a picnic, camp out (in your living room).

Pledge of Allegiance today and listen to some tunes about our great country.
Watch for details to come about having a Virtual Field Day with your family! We’ll be able
to update you with a total number of pictures/letters collected and celebrate with each
other virtually.
THANK YOU for participating in this year’s Great Cause Campaign! We look forward to
sharing your pictures and letters! We may have to be apart, but together we can still make a difference!
