Art Goals of the Middle School Art Education Program

-To help students develop problems solving skills

-To learn specific skills and concepts (Shading, painting techniques, Pen/ink techniques etc.)

-To demonstrate knowledge of a variety of media and techniques traditionally used in the visual arts, both two dimensional and three dimensional.

-To give students an opportunity to express themselves through a variety of mediums

-To demonstrate creativity

-To assess personal development in art skills and awareness

-To present concepts and knowledge associated with art history

-To create artworks which reflects a concern for quality and craftsmanship.

-To help students understand art as a lifelong hobby.
