The middle school is excited to have been selected as the recipient of a $20,000 grant from the Wisconsin Technology Initiative (WTI)! The requirements of the grant were that the funds be put towards a Makerspace area. Last year the middle school began transforming some classroom space into an Innovation Lab area where Mrs. Burke began piloting an 8th grade STEM class. We will be receiving a new laser engraver, three new 3D printers, and many essential Makerspace tools. In addition, we will be receiving a consultation on the progress of our Innovation Lab area and funding for continued training. Pictured is Mrs. Burke with one of her 8th grade STEM groups. Thank you WTI for this wonderful opportunity!!!

Interact is an online, interactive e-course created for parents and guardians to complete with their children with the goal of sparking basic online safety discussions in the home. This 30 minute module provides parents with the opportunity to review their own tech use to set a good example; interactive activities to complete alongside their children; and follow-up resources and activities to keep the discussions going.
This e-course gives parents the opportunity to set themselves up as the trusted adult in their child’s life. If the child sees something online they don’t understand or that makes them uncomfortable, they know they have someone to reach out to. The e-course even provides some ideas on how to start and continue these discussions, along with some bonus tips to help break the ice on awkward topics!
Be your child’s trusted adult. Interact, and stay safe!
Cyber Safety for Parents/Guardians and Children
On Friday, March 1, 2019, the Cedar Grove-Belgium Elementary School will conduct Child Development Screenings. The screenings will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Individual screenings will be scheduled every 45 minutes. We encourage the participation of parents with children between the ages of 2 years, 9 months and 5 years of age who have not yet participated in some form of preschool screening and who have not entered four or five year old kindergarten. This screening is also designed for pre-kindergarten children who have recently moved to the community and have not previously been screened. This service is provided at no cost to residents of Cedar Grove-Belgium School District only. Please call Shelly Abler at 920-668-8518, ext 304 to schedule a screening time.
In order to keep our records up to date, please let us know of all preschool children living in your household. Thank you!
